Hello,

I've been with C4C since early last summer.  I've been doing home
refurbs since we moved out of the Boys and Girls club.  I'm
committed to doing 3 computers a week but my record was 11.  6
laptops and 5 desktops.  I documented my methods using a server to
clone the machines and it's stored somewhere on the website.  Also
    here http://pierrekerr.ca/docs/HomeRefurb.pdf

This week I did some on-site troubleshooting of a dial up modem that
wouldn't.  I posted my experience on the website's Home Refurb forum
    under the title "Don't
      Forget the Obvious".

I did some lengthy battles with a box full of modems a while back
trying to get them to work under Linux.  "Win" modems all (want
one?).  No luck.  Since then I have had success buying USR
hardware modems model USR5610C on E-bay.  The last lot I bought was
    $12
for 5 and I actually received 6 with $10 delivery from the
    States.

I also did a service call to a young blind man.  He was going to buy
    one
of C4C's servers but it ended up dying so instead I fixed his
server.  He's got Linux certification and is quite a techie.  He's
offered to help us out.  Now I'm testing VInux, an Ubuntu based
    distribution for the Visually Impaired.

Now let's see how this new list behaves.
