Of course, the answer is "yes". I am just starting to upgrade some of
my home systems and will suggest that we start using 12.04LTS on future
installs. I currently only have one C4C computer to work on and it's a
fairly powerful one so shouldn't have a problem.
I think I'll start by simply doing an upgrade on the existing C4C image
that I have for 10.04LTS so all the desktop mods carry forward.

In fact, they suggest waiting for the first update due in July. They
say "It is generally recommended that users of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS wait
until the first point release, due in July, before upgrading."

If you want to update earlier run "update-manager -d" otherwise the
upgrade option won't show up.
I just tried this on my test machine and it complained that my video
card does not meet the specs.

I came across this PDF as an offer in an e-mail and as I followed links
I realised it was just gathering information from me so I Googled it and
found that it is in fact free. This place:
