Can I put a different spin on the Sunday ride.

Listening to the conversation before we left, there were two different groups, those going to Lighthouse Cove for breakfast/brunch and those, from the Tuesday night group I think, who needed to be back by 11:00ish and were planning to do a non-stop loop through Merlin.

I think a conversation concerning expected speed was required, I found 27-30Kph into the wind difficult even with drafting, and I suspect some who usually join us would have been dropped. Others found trying to keep that pace at the front difficult.

I think we’ve discussed the issue of how to accommodate different level riders for the Weds night ride, and this should be extended to the Sunday ride also. Even if we have two groups, does it matter if the latter group arrives a little later for breakfast?

The idea for Tuesday is a good one, as the expectation is there and assuming I recover from two rides this weekend I might just be there! At that speed, how far are you planning to go?

James.

Hi All:

Several of us have been discussing the need for an intermediate riding group.  A time where a slightly more  experienced rider can practise group riding skills and challenge their abilities just a little further.

I'd like to get the ball rolling on this if people are interested.  So... What do you think of this...

Tuesday Night 6:30

Meeting Place Rona ( this way we can head out of town without worrying about traffic so much)

Average Speed +-30K to start

Skill to be worked on:  Keeping our lines tight, cycling through the group, increasing speed and endurance

I'd like to invite a couple of the Regular Tuesday night people out as well in hopes that we can learn form your experience.  I heard some great things about how a couple of the guys from the Tuesday night group helped bring the cycling group together on Sunday as a working team. (Thanks).   Minus the accident I heard that the ride was very unified and enjoyable.  We would be grateful for any mentor ship that you would be will to provide.

I'm sorry but I don't know who it was that fell but I'm hoping you are doing ok.  Let us know if you need anything.

Anyway....if interested....I'd like to start tomorrow night :)

Let me know if you are in.   And please share any other ideas you may have.

Ann
