1)Dorchester Volunteers Needed

CUDS is asking for your help! It's for the Lord Dorchester Cup, our annual university-level tournament. Here are the details. The tournament itself is from March 2 - 4, 2007. Blair, our volunteer director will need lots and lots of judges, runners, food organizers and people to do other odd jobs for all three days. What's in it for you?  Well, Dorchester will have socials on both the Friday and Saturday nights! Fun, all-ages friendly evenings for you to mingle with the debaters and have an awesome time. Plus, CUDS will feed you several meals. Also for everyone who has been sent away to a tournament it is expected that you will volunteer your time for the weekend. Finally, don't forget the warm fuzzy feeling you will get inside from knowing that you helped CUDS run the best tournament of the year. If all volunteers could email Blair at novice@carletondebate.org ASAP so she can finalize the volunteers list.

2) Equity Committee Submissions

At the AGM in 2006, CUDS passed a motion to set up a committee, chaired by the president, to look into issues relating to equity and diversity within CUDS. The committee is responsible for witting a report detailing the current situation and to make recommendations for the club. In order to do this, the Equity Committee is asking for all former members and current members to give an account of their experience within the club, to explain any barriers they felt were present and to suggest any recommendations that they may have. Anyone who wishes to give an account can either e-mail equity@carletondebate.org or they may meet in person with a member of the committee. In order to set up a meeting, please e-mail equity@carletondebate.org. Furthermore there will be a thread on CUSIDnet where any of these issues can be discussed. The Equity Committee looks forward to hearing from everyone and asks for everyone to submit an account of their experiences so the report can be as representative of people's experiences as possible.

French Nationals will be held March 16th to 18th in Montreal. If you are interested please post on the relevant thread on CUSIDnet or e-mail francais@carletondebate.org.
