Debate-a-thon for Tsunami Victims

Next Monday (January 24), the Carleton University Debating Society, along with the University of Ottawa English Debating Society (EDS), and other CUSID members from across the country will be holding a 24-hour long debating marathon to raise money for tsunami relief efforts.  Inspired by the efforts of EDS debater Jamie Furniss, who after winning the World Championships dropped everything to help relief efforts in Indonesia, we hope to do our part in helping to relieve the suffering occurring in southeast Asia.  You can read some powerful accounts of Jamie's experiences to date at http://www.cusid.ca/community/viewtopic.php?t=6568.

We will be starting at 9am on Monday at the University of Ottawa's University Centre and ending at 9am the following Tuesday.  If you would like to help out and take part by taking a shift, or if you would like to make a contribution, please contact Wayne at vpcom@carletondebate.org.

Upcoming Tournaments

The following tournaments are coming up and are open to all members of the Society:

February 4 - 6
Leger Cup (Central Canadian Championships) @ York University

February 18 - 20 (depending on interest)
