Friday 14
Nov, one non-generic calendar highlight of special note this week, Ottawa
singer Becky Abbott is competing in the Round 3 Finals of the Live 88 "Big
Money Shot" on Friday, November 14th at 9:00 pm at Capital Music
Hall. She needs to get as many people as
possible out to support her and cheer her on!!
Part of the judging is based on audience
response and how many fans are there to see Becky perform for a chance to win
$40,000.00 in artist development towards touring and making her debut
record.
Tickets are $10.00 (goes towards the winner) at the door and
the doors open at 8:00 pm, so come early as it’s first come, first served
and she needs your support and loud cheering!!

Local Arts News -
Ottawa festivals to lose all city funding under
planned cuts - Looks like more planning shortsightedness by Ottawa City
in its past record of being near the bottom of Canadian cities of per capita
support of the arts; this time cutting off more local business revenue
generating and tourist friendly festivals in the interests of meeting an
arbitrary and narrow bottom line aim.
