This is an occasional note to let you know about some live music highlights for the week.

Arts News:
New 'DAWG' in town! - The CRTC has granted DAWG FM, CIDG 101.9 an all-blues radio station in Ottawa scheduled to begin broadcasting in spring 2009. Click Press Release for more.

News on the Arts Support Blues - These are two links providing an update on certain recent campaign rhetoric, Ottawa Citizen article by Peter Hum and on 'Ordinary Canadians' support for the arts, a responding Facebook Group now at about 55,200 members since its origin.
Memphis Blues Challenge Outcome - Liz Sykes reports that after two semi-final rounds (Wednesday, September 24 & Wednesday, October 1), four Ottawa area bands advanced to the Finals on Thursday, October 2. The judges chose MonkeyJunk to be the OBS representative at
the International Blues Challenge, February 4-7, 2008 in Memphis TN. Congratulations to Steve Marriner, Tony D and Matt Sobb.
