LiVE 88.5 BIG MONEY SHOT HOSTS 2nd ANNUAL OFFICIAL SXSW PARTY IN TEXAS!
OTTAWA, ON – With four successful years under its belt, Ottawa’s annual LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot competition is hosting the 2nd annual LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot 2010 SXSW Party during the notable South by Southwest Music Conference held in Austin, Texas. The most promising talent from the Ottawa region will take the stage on March 20, 2010 and includes the 2009 LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot winner Hollerado!
“The level of talent that we are bringing to SXSW this year is truly inspiring. The Ottawa music scene has officially come of age and we are proud to see so many fantastic artists strutting their stuff in Austin, Texas,” exclaims Lee Wagner, Director of Canadian Talent Development.
The legendary festival showcases acts of all genres from around the globe on over eighty stages in downtown Austin. The LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot official SXSW party will showcase past winners Hollerado, Amos The Transparent, Amanda Rheaume, Ty Hall and Benefit Of A Doubt, highlighting some of Canada’s best unsigned talent.
The LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot annual competition is committed to the development of emerging artists, with the prize money totaling over a half a million dollars per year which is allocated towards talent development. This competition provides an opportunity for Ottawa based bands to showcase their ability to create, perform and produce original music, as each band must submit a five-song demo to participate. In addition, bands have the opportunity to network with top industry representatives.
