The growing autonomy of personal AI agents makes it essential that digital sovereignty begins with the individual. This is not on any Federal Government agenda, and wasn’t really addressed in the last CIRA hosted Canadian Internet Governance Forum (CIGF). I think that forming a coalition of individuals and organizations recognizing and advancing this as a significant Canadian public policy issue is a task that fits with TC’s mandate. While it bugs me that Tapscott writes better than I do, I’m happy to note I essentially said this before he did.
