Hello all. You are receiving this message via a new listserver I have
set up for Telecommunities Canada on the National Capital Freenet site.
We are still hoping that the original listserver can be revived, but in
the meantime, we need to hold an AGM and file our papers to maintain our
not-for-profit status by Dec. 13. I regret the lack of communications
this year, but health issues got in the way. Nevertheless , many things
were accomplished. I will send around an activity report in the next
message along with a link to a doodle poll to choose a date for the AGM.
This will be an important year for TC on the world stage. We are
recognized as a group that has already been participating in WSIS+20
(World Summit for the Information Society) and the GDC (Global Digital
Compact) -- as evidenced on our website. And the Canadian government is
finally putting together an informal working group to discuss processes
towards developing a multistakeholder position on governance and other
issues that will be dealt with in the forum.
Of course, there are many other issues, local, national, and
international that will benefit from our perspective. Your contributions
are important.
