by execdir@computersforcommunities.ca
Hello C4C'ers
This week at C4C there are a couple things to announce.
0. Penny Drive
If you have pennies kicking around and you want to be a quick adopter
of a penny free life then come on out to our Volunteer Work Day to
drop off your pennies. We will be in the room from 10:00am to 2:00pm
for maps and instructions check out the event link here:
http://computersforcommunities.ca/c4c/en/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=13
If you are just coming by to drop off pennies just drop by, no need to
sign up. We will have a bucket on site.
These pennies will help us continue delivering our programs including
our volunteer work days.
1. February Volunteer Work Day
Next, we are having our second Volunteer Work Day this Saturday.
Registration is a little low, so we would be excited to see more
volunteers sign up. We can have up to 40 volunteers which would be
great. All volunteers are encouraged to make it out if they can.
We have choosen a centrally Located community room by Baseline Bus
station at Ben Franklin Place (aka Centre Point Library, old Nepean
City Hall). For more info and to register please follow this link:

2. 2013 Fundraising campaign
Our 2013 fundraising campaign target is again $20,000. This is to help
us run our programs and achieve our goal of re-opening our computer
refurbishing workshop. To make a donation online please check out this
link:

3. Immigrant Women Services Ottawa (IWSO)
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the IWSO
graduation ceremony for their computer courses level I, II and III. We
held a draw for 10 women to get a C4C computer for the low cost of a
$20 donation to C4C. The women were verry excited. Now the refurb and
delivery teams are hard at work preparing 10 computers for delivery.

5. mailing Lists
C4C is in the process of moving to another mailing list/discssion
platform. This process is proving to be somewhat challenging. We are
working through the kinks so bear with us. We will continue our
attempts to streamline our mailings lists. In the short term we will
continue to use National Capital Freenet mailing lists
(http://lists.ncf.ca/listinfo). You may also receive occasional emails
from a system called phpLists
