New OLG mailing list server

Hello sisters,
Since Yahoogroups is shutting down on December 15th, I checked several options for a list server for OLG. Some were rather expensive and some were not so much but very limited. With the help of Sheila Alder Brown from On Line Sigma, we now have a new email list server. They are providing the service for free and not limited. The list server is a non profit in Canada.
I will be uploading your email addresses into the system and you should receive a welcome email. There will be some differences in how things go through. If you want to reply to the whole list you will have to click "Reply to All" so that the group email will show up. Otherwise, your reply will just go to the person posting the email. For those that use AOL, you will need to check your spam folders. Seems that AOL is throwing them in that folder on my test emails. You will still have the (olg) header in the subject line. If there are attachments or pictures in the sent emails they will have to be approved by an administrator to go to the list. So those emails may not go through as quickly. Vicki Lunt is assisting with that. She and I will receive a notification from the server when emails need approval. This procedure keeps the server from being overloaded. It may take us a bit to get used to the new list server but we will get there.
Our new email name is olg(a)lists.ncf.ca
I will send out a separate email once the list has been uploaded so you can be on the lookout for the notification that you are on the new email server.
