My favorite Christmas song is "O Holy Night". I have always sang in Christmas
cantatas since I was 9 years old so this year is strange because due to COVID none are
taking place. Miss that part of Christmas a lot.
Love going around and looking at the decorations and listening to all the Christmas music.
Then being with our children for Christmas .
Since the two granddaughters were born, we have been going to our youngest sons house for
Christmas with brunch in the AM and dinner around 7 PM. The other son and his wife come
over and everyone is in the kitchen laughing and talking and fixing the meal. Sometimes
we break out in song or a little dance if the mood strikes .
Our traditions have changed over the years. When we were first married we always had an
Open House on Christmas Eve. This went on for many years and wherever we were living in
the world, it was our Christmas tradition and we didn't feel so lonely being away from
our families. Then the boys grew up, have their own family, and it is easier for them if
we visit them. That is our present tradition.
Favorite holiday food is home made eggnog. One of my earliest memories is watching my
father in the kitchen making eggnog and I have his recipe. When children were small they
got the "egg" and when we became adults, we added the "nog". Much
better than store bought kind.
Best wishes to all of you and I hope Santa is good to you this year. (I know all of you
have been good :)
