Yellow riding jacket for sale

by Geoff Clement

I have a new (ish) fluorescent yellow riding jacket for sale, size large. It was bought in England a couple years ago as a gift, but is a bit too loose on me, so I never used it. Asking $40.00. Geoff. 519-351-4962, email reply, or see me Wednesday nights. Also, I have heard several people mention that they notice a difference between their cycle computers. Here is what I have experienced and may help others set up. I have a Sigma with wired pick-up. First, I set the magnet on the wheel only a couple of inches from the rim. ( not sure if this makes much difference as it only counts pulses) Next, make sure the tire is at correct riding pressure. The instructions will give circumferences for various wheel and tire combo's. FORGET these. You need to measure the exact circumference by marking the wheel and rolling forward 1 revolution, them measure carefully the distance travelled. I use the stem as a starting point with the stem 90 deg. to the floor. IMPORTANT !! From my experience, I found that miss measuring by only a couple of mm, makes a huge difference on the road. Make sure to enter this number correctly when setting up. Write it down for future reference if you have to re-set after a battery change. Also, I have noticed that if I don't keep my tires at 100 psi, which is what I set-up at, I get a very noticeable difference on the road. -10 psi alters the circumference enough to throw off your distance and speed. Obviously, these computers are subjective, we don't really care if they are balls on, but if you're like me, you like to think that the reading you're getting is what you're doing. Hope this helps. Geoff.

Helmet expiry date

by eymcdn＠telus.blackberry.net

Hi folks, just a quick question to anyone.... Regarding the date in the helmet and when the helmet expires. Is it a certain period of time that elapses from the date in the helmet? Or does the date in the helmet indicate the expiry date? Thanks, Brian Sent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerry

Rondeau Ride Tonight?

by Laevens, Jennifer

Hey Gang, I'm out in Rondeau this week and I was wondering if anyone wanted to start from there tonight for a ride. We could head east along the scenic Rose Beach Line, through Morpeth and then east on Talbot Trail. We could make the ride 20km or more depending on who wants to ride. We would have a couple of great valleys for practicing our shifting. I am here at work until 3:30 today so you are welcome to email me here jlaevens(a)uniongas.com<mailto:jlaevens@uniongas.com> or call me at the cottage 519-674-3959 after 4 pm. Otherwise, I won't be riding in Chatham tonight. See you next week! Jennifer Laevens

Tonight's ride

by Geoff Clement

For me, I can't make Rondeau, but I might suggest we start from Chatham a 7 PM not 6:30. It might be a little cooler by then and is still light enough till 9:30 with rear lights !!!! I'm a bit late suggesting this, but what does the group think ??? Geoff
