Dear Parents, Students and Community of Nepean High School, Ottawa Race Weekend is quickly approaching (May 23,24,25), and Nepean High School has created a team of students, teachers and parents to run in the MDS Nordion 5km run/walk, in order to help raise funds for Canadian Athletes Now Fund (<http://www.canadianathletesnow.ca/about-us/our-history.html>http://www...), the National Charity for the Race. Here are the details: What: Fund Raiser for Canadian Athletes Now Fund supporting Canadian Olympic Athletes Who: Students, Teachers, Parents, Community of Nepean High School When: Saturday May 24, 5pm (MDS Nordion 5km) Why: To Support Canadian Athletes as they enter this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing Our Goal: The goal is to have 208 students run in this year's race . Our fundraising goal would be $6000 - this amount would "sponsor" one athlete. Top fundraisers in each grade get a prize, and all participants receive a $50 gift bag at the race. How: You can help in one of two ways: 1) race with our team - go to <http://my.e2rm.com/TeamPage.aspx?teamID=58473&LangPref=en-CA>http:... and choose the option to "join this team" (even if you're already signed up to race a different event, you can still join our team! Also, every student that fundraises $208 gets their race entry paid for) 2) not race, but donate to our team - again, go to the link above and select "sponsor this team" (sponsorships of $25 or greater get an immediate email with a tax receipt) ***All students must registered to race by Tue May 20th to ensure that they have a race number ***Please feel free to forward this email to your friends / family so that they can help out our Team Nepean !
