I wanted to let you and "Ottawa Blues, Jazz and Swing Guide" know that the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has extended its deadline for entering to December 3, 2010. I am attaching a press release and hope that you will post it and/or distribute it to songwriters, musicians, and bands so that they know there is still time to enter.
ISC accepts entries from amateur and professional songwriters, and gives away over $150,000 in cash and prizes (including a Grand Prize of $25,000 cash (US) and $20,000 in music equipment and other prizes).
The judging panel is ISC's most impressive to date and includes 60 high-profile judges such as Peter Gabriel, Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, Rihanna, Timbaland, Ben Harper, McCoy Tyner, Wynonna, Michael W. Smith, Robbie Williams, Terence Blanchard, Regina Spektor, Joe Nichols, John Mayall, Train, Keane, Jeff Beck, Michael W. Smith, Chayanne, Ben Folds, and many more. Also included are many high-level music industry executives such as Amanda Ghost (President, Epic Records); Monte Lipman (President/CEO, Universal Republic Records); Rick Krim (Exec. VP, Talent & Music Programming, VH-1); and many more.

To Judge 2010 International Songwriting Competition (ISC)
*Deadline Extended To December 3, 2010*
October 13, 2010 - Internationally renowned for its high-caliber judges, ISC has put together an impressive panel of 60 judges this year, offering entrants a unique opportunity to have their songs heard by some of the most influential decision-makers in the industry. Monte Lipman, President of Universal Republic Records and a judge for the past nine years, states "We're always been impressed with the talented songwriters who participate in the ISC. This is a great A&R source to find new artists." Since 2004, three of the five Grand Prize winners have been signed to major record labels (Universal Republic, Motown, and Epic), one to a high-profile independent label, and one to a publishing deal.
The deadline to enter has been extended to December 3, 2010. ISC accepts online, mail-in, and MySpace entries. Entries must be postmarked or submitted online on or before midnight EST (US) on December 3, 2010.
