On Thursday, January 21 (2:30 pm), Carleton University is proudly hosting a Songwriting
Workshop by the iconic Canadian singer-songwriter Lennie Gallant
(

hear him discussing his work and career, and to collect some important tips on the music
business.
Our poster is attached for your interest and perusal. Tickets are on sale at the at
Carleton University Music Office (613-520-5770), and at the door. General Admission is
$10 (Students $5).
Lennie Gallant is widely recognized as one of Canada’s leading songwriters. His nine
albums (seven in English and two in French) have won him 13 East Coast Music Awards and 3
Juno Award nominations. Gallant is in Ottawa to perform two shorws at the National Arts

his last album, the Juno nominated “When We Get There,” Gallant promises that “If We Had A
Fire” is his best work yet! (

The workshop takes place on the Carleton campus, in the Fenn Lounge of the University
Commons, which is located at the north end of the campus. Enter the campus on the Bronson
Avenue side, stay right, cross the bridge over the O-Train tracks, and follow the signs to
Parking Lot 6. The Residence Commons is well signed, on the right, as you follow the
sidewalk toward the centre of campus. It is marked “CO” on the campus map:
