Here is a sampling of live music opportunities listed this week of note on the
Ottawa Blues, Jazz & Swing Guide calendar:
a.. Sunday, 31 May,
-There's an Open Jam with River City Junction - 4 to 7 pm at The Rainbow
- Glebop Jazz Trio is at the Arrow & the Loon Now in its Fifth Year. Sometimes appearing as the John Haysom
Trio and sometimes as a quartet (with drums added), provides generally mellow, accessible jazz consisting
of popular standards, jazz standards and originals.
- There's an Open Blues/Rock jam at Le Petit Chicago in Hull Centre-Town, The venue provides drums and
amps, just bring your instrument. One musician at a time can play, with the band for improvisation,
or as a standalone, for 15/20 minutes
b.. Tuesday, 2 June,
- One of Ottawa's original bluesmen, Guy Del Villano is at the Elmdale,.no cover, with. roots, blues, jazz,

- River City Junction is at Avant Garde Bar with various guest performers every first Tuesday of the
month. Jammers welcome.
- The Richard Page Quartet is at Rainbow Bistro bringing you originals and standards every Tuesday night.
c.. Wednesday, 3 June
- Enjoy the soulful piano and vocal stylings of Jeff Rogers.at Tucson's.
d.. Thursday, 4 June,
- Enjoy Candle Light Acoustic Music with Al Tambay & Friends at Tucson's.
- Peter Liu and the Jazz Mutants present 'Jazz Evolution' at The Cabana Supper Club (formerly The New Bayou).
Jazz Evolution is looking for a different jazz band each month to play our opening set, and for individual
instrumentalists/vocalists to be showcased, performing with the band in the following two sets. Most
individual musicians are expected to attend a previous band rehearsal.
e.. Friday, 5 June, Dominik Heins & John Graham are at The Roses Cafe new location at 103 Promenade du Portage
in Hull - which is right downtown
f.. Saturday, 6 June, Wicked Grin is at The Aylmer Marina once more this year. Enjoy Great food, dancing, view
and blues. Start Time: 7:00 PM

a.. Wednesday, 20 May,
-Candle Light Acoustic Music with Jeff Rogers, Every Wednesday enjoy the soulful piano and vocal stylings
of Jeff Rogers.at Tuicson's. Jeff Rogers has been a featured local performer at Bluesfest, and has received
critcal reviews with his musical projects that range from dueling piano to a full out grooving band. Don't miss
seeing Jeff's extraordinary talent!
b.. Thursday 21 May,
- Candle Light Acoustic Music with Al Tambay & Friends.Every Thursday evening Al Tambay & Friends perform
Acoustic music for your listening pleasure. Al's unigue sense of humor combined with Tucson's excellent full
menu and atmosphere make for a relaxing enjoyable evening.
- JazzWorks Monthly Jam is at The Cabana Supper Club (formerly The New Bayou), 1077 Bank Street
(east side of Bank just north of Sunnyside, opposite the Mayfair Cinema) Ottawa - 8:30 p.m. to midnight-ish
- Cover/Admission: $5. Proceeds support jam sessions and JazzWorks scholarships. All listeners, jammers,
newcomers, and Jazz Campers are welcome!
The monthly JazzWorks jam is this Thursday, featuring Lindsay MacLeod and
friends:

Here is a sampling of live music opportunities listed this week of note on the
Ottawa Blues, Jazz & Swing Guide calendar:
a.. Sunday, 10 May,
-Wicked Grin are at The Atomic Rooster (Great food and great blues!) - 6 to 9 pm
- Glebop Jazz Trio - presents mellow jazz and a Sing into Spring feature - 6 to 8 pm, at The Arrow &
The Loon Pub, Fifth Avenue, just east of Bank St. - John Haysom - trumpet, Howard Tweddle - bass,
Bert Waslander - piano and a variety of local vocalists .
- Jesse Greene and band is at Irene's with Blues/Jazz originals rock, funk, folk, R&B. Don't miss out!
this is a kick ass band!. Jesse is an amazing guitarist and songwriter. Bluesfest performances, and
shows with her other two bands Jokko and Frank and Jesse James have really started to turn heads
and win hearts. But this is by far the best yet!
b.. Tuesday, 12 May, The Richard Page Quartet brings you originals and standards every Tuesday night
with Richard Page - reeds and tubes, Adam Daudrich - ivories, Philippe Charbonneau - bass fiddle
Matt Aston - skins and tins at Rainbow Bistro.
c.. Thursday 14 May,
- and every Thursday from 7 to 10 pm Jazz vocals w/Tim Bedner & Elise Letourneau,
flute, piano and 7 string guitar are presented at Cafe Paradiso
- the Stellar Cast Blues Showcase is at Irene's hosted by Mike Ktenas and Corky Kealey, with
weekly guest hosts and sit-ins by Ottawa's best roots musicians, this week - Rob Alexander
d.. Friday 15 May,
- Juno-nominated singer-songwriter Kellylee Evans, who's twice sold out the Kennedy
Center Jazz Club, will bring her captivating voice back to her home town audience at
Ottawa's Tulip Festival - 10 pm in the Mirror Tent at Ottawa City Hall.
- Michael Martin is at The Roses Cafe, re-opened after a 2-year hiatus in Gatineau (Hull.sector).
The new location is at 103 Promenade du Portage in Hull - right downtown.
e.. Saturday, 16 May,
- there's an invitational Jazz Jam Session at Rainbow Bistro bringing in the best jazz players
in Ottawa, featuring great rhythm sections, and the top horn players around town
- Wicked Grin is at The Rainbow.
