a.. Sunday 25 July
- Moondogs at Atomic Rooster 6 to 9 pm - Really hope you can make
it to the Atomic Rooster tonight for the Moondogs show! Come for dinner,
stay for Zep, Purple, Free, Elton, Winter... -Leslie & the boys
- Glebop Jazz Trio - mellow jazz - 6 to 8 pm, at The Arrow & The Loon Pub,
Fifth Avenue, just east of Bank St. -- John Haysom -- trumpet,
Howard Tweddle - bass, Bert Waslander - piano
- Open Blues/Rock jam at Le Petit Chicago in Hull Centre-Town, 50 Portage St.
We provide drums and amps, just bring your instrument. One musician at a time
can play, with the band for improvisation, or as a standalone, for 15/20 minutes.
You can register your name on a list at the door, choosing at what time you'd like
to play. We suggest that you know how to communicate in terms of chords and
rhythms, to make the improvisation easier and more convenient for the other
musicians. You're more than welcome to come and play with us, and bring your
friends! Le Petit Chicago is a very nice bar and we hope to see a lot of people.
Spread the word!

d.. AQUiCKSMOKE at JIM JAM 2010, Morrisburg, ONTARIO AQUICKSMOKE
are four like-minded confreres who have traveled the musical landscape for
some years now under many pseudonyms. Paul Hampsey is the lead singer of
the band. Plays a mean chuggin' guitar as well. Alden Roberge is the drummer.
'Nuff said. Philippe Leger adds fluorescent guitar nuances and lends a voice now
and then. Miguel Cerejido happily rounds out the whole by enveloping the group
with thumping bass and Cuban-accented vocal harmonies. AQUiCKSMOKE is an
entirely original group who rely on the basic need that music does soothe the
soul and its delivery is honest and straightforward

I only highlight a small number of events that are posted to the calendar.
Nowhere near everything is posted on the calendar as it's musician/venue
optional to post, and amend the listings as needed. However more info can be found
on the calendar including links to such venue web sites as Rainbow Bistro, Tucson's,
The Elmdale and Bass Line Station that usually have more detailed schedules.
It's also a good idea to call a venue to confirm that regular listings still apply
as they sometimes just quietly go away or may be cancelled due to weather disruptions.
First, check the calendar for more on Ottawa live music events recently posted on the
calendar.
