a.. Sunday 18 April - Vineyards presents Elise Letourneau - Vocal and Flute
& Tim Bedner - 7 string Guitar in its long time featuring of jazz duos.
b.. Monday 5 April - Search Engine is at Le Petit Chicago
performing three sets with some of the area's best young players.
The music and fun sometimes doesn't stop until 2 am at Le Petit
Chicago, Hull, QC with Brian Asselin, tenor sax, Jeff Asselin, drums,
Alex Mastronadi, bass and Zakari Frantz on sax.
c.. Wednesday 21 April - Viree Blues Boreale presents Shrimp Daddy &
The Sharpshooters a newcomer to Viree Blues Boreale with Steve Marriner
at 8 pm. Enjoy a voice like B.B.King's, a set list of original compositions
similar to that of Chicago Blues legends' and some harmonica playing evoking
James Cotton, Little Walter or Howlin Wolf.
In a festive atmosphere and with an album produced by a long time friend of
Viree Blues Boreale, Shrimp Daddy, a Montreal native is now living in Oakville Ontario.
And it is in our region, in Ottawa and with our friend Steve Marriner from Monkey
Junk that his impressive album was produced. They will be officially launching this
album, "Messin' With My System", a return to their roots for Shrimp Daddy &
the Sharpshooters and for Steve Marriner, at Viree Blues Boreale.
a.. Thursday 22 April - The Stellar Cast Blues Showcase at Irene's 885 Bank St
Ottawa Ont. Hosted by Mike Ktenas and Corky Kealey, with weekly guest hosts
and sit-ins by Ottawa's best roots musicians this week with guest host Dr. Dave/

a.. Sunday 11 April
- There's Jazz in the Afternoon at The Arrow & Loon Pub in the Glebe. Great food,
micro-brewery beer, and jazz at 99 Fifth Avenue at Bank Street. It doesn't get any
better than that!
Sandra Clarke (vocals), Howard Tweddle (jazz piano), and Chris Thompson
(drums) perform two hours of great jazz tunes from 5 to 7. All three musicians
have been fixtures on the Ottawa jazz scene for many years, but this is the first time
they've performed together as a group. The show will feature an eclectic mix of music,
from ballads to up tempo, from latin to swing, from old to new. No cover charge.
- There's Sunday Blues at Atomic Rooster. Each Sunday Atomic Rooster presents a variety
of bluesy live music. This coming Sunday, check out The Moon Dogs. Click the above link

a.. Tuesday 13 April - Check out one of the Jammers events this week Tuesday at Bass
Line Station for lots of live music fun from 9:30 pm.
b.. Thursday 15 April
- JazzWorks Monthly Jam is at Carleton Tavern, 223 Armstrong
Street across from the Parkdale Market. Its a great combination - great music by
local jazz musicians, a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, with lots of free parking
and top notch pub food that's available into the late evening. 8 pm to midnight-ish.
Cover/Admission: $5. Proceeds support jam sessions and JazzWorks scholarships.
All listeners, jammers, newcomers, and Jazz Campers are welcome!

"Trinity Rythm Section" and Special Guests Screamin'
Joe Hawkins Pinstripe Bob Primeau; High octane, driving soul,
blues, jazz, funk, groove, beat nick music played by the best
session & side men in the Ottawa/Gatineau/hull area.

at The Lookout, a monthly event in Ottawa, welcoming a different jazz
band each month to play an opening set at new home,The Lookout Bar,
in the very heart of the Byward Market. It's a bias-free space...perfect
for a bunch of Mutants! Proceeds from the $5.00 cover are donated
to the Jazzworks Scholarship Fund (www.jazzworkscanada.com).
d.. Saturday 10 April - Swing Into Spring with Kim Kaskiw & Steve
Berndt. Don't miss a whole new performance of SWING INTO SPRING!
Jazz vocalists Kim Kaskiw and Steve Berndt team up once again to perform
duets, Jazz Standards and original compositions that will be heard for
the first time at 8 p.m. at the National Arts Center's Fourth Stage.
Joining them will be J.P. Allain on Piano, Ken Kanwisher on Bass, Mark Rehder
on Drums, Brian Asselin on saxophone and Kelly Craig on Trumpet and Flugelhorn.
Tickets are available at the NAC box office and sell for $20.00.
