heart of the Byward Market. It's a bias-free space...perfect for a bunch
of Mutants!
The Jazz Mutants aim to provide an alternative performance space for
supportive collaboration and exploration. A different band is invited to open
each month. Proceeds from the $5.00 cover are donated to the Jazzworks
Scholarship Fund (
www.jazzworkscanada.com). For more information, check

b.. Thursday 6 May - Enjoy Candle Light Acoustic Music with Al Tambay &
Friends Thursday evening, Al & Friends perform Acoustic music for your
listening pleasure. Al's unique sense of humor combined with Tucson's
excellent full menu and atmosphere make for a relaxing enjoyable evening.
Friday 7 May, the Jazz Mutants also play some of their favourite jazz
standards at Ottawa's Mooney's Bay Bistro, at 731 Ridgewood Avenue
(off Riverside Drive, across from St. Elias Church) from 6:30 to 9:30pm.
Mooney's Bay Bistro is family owned, with a warm cozy setting and tasty
homemade meals. Come for dinner and stay for the smooth sounds of
the Jazz Mutants!
I only highlight a small number of events that are posted to the calendar.
Nowhere near everything is posted on the calendar as it's musician/venue
optional to post, and amend the listings as needed. However more info can be found
on the calendar including links to such venue web sites as Rainbow Bistro, Tucson's,
The Elmdale and Bass Line Station that usually have more detailed schedules.
It's also a good idea to call a venue to confirm that regular listings still apply
as they sometimes just quietly go away or may be cancelled due to weather disruptions.
First, check the calendar for more on Ottawa live music events. For the full month's
