She has proven she can wrap her silky voice around anything from country blues to her own rootsy salon sound. - The Stellar Cast Blues Showcase at Irene's, hosted by Mike Ktenas and Corky Kealey, features Pat Johnson as guest host with sit-ins by Ottawa's best roots musicians. c.. Help save the CBC The Canadian government has refused to provide loans to the CBC to cover its budget shortfall this year. This is forcing the CBC and Radio Canada to drastically cut over 800 jobs as well as programming when job creation is being touted by the same government. The CBC is Canada's unifying force to bring together and connect its various regions, their cultures and Canada's strengths in being at the forefront of a multi-cultural nation that can show the world the way to be able to live together in spite of differences its citizens may have. This factor needs to be supported by Canada's government, not lessened.
