Here's merely a sample of listings on the calendar:
a.. Sunday, 30 Aug
- Magnolia Rhythm Kings - traditional in form and style, but
adventurous in repertoire 3 to 6 pm at Royal Oak, Kanata
- Final day for The Limestone City Blues Festival.
- There's an open Jam with various host bands - 4 to 7 pm at The
Rainbow. For this week, see the web site month's schedule:

There's Blues at Atomic Rooster an Open Blues/Rock jam 8 to 11 pm at
Le Petit Chicago and Jessamyn Greene and band perform live at Irene's
b.. Tuesday 1 Sep
- Northern Lights Altai Khangai Jazz/Folk at Kailash Mital Theatre,
Carleton U. Altai Khangai of Mongolia team up their traditional folk music
with the spacious jazz of Calgary's Northern Lights Quartet for a sound
that is entirely new and refreshing. Horse fiddles, traditional violins and
throat singing add an ethereal element to this evocative music.

- There's an Open Mic Electric Jam at Bass Line Station
Not everything is posted on the calendar as it's musician/venue optional to post,
and
amend the listings as needed. However there's more info on the calendar including
links to the venue web sites such as Rainbow Bistro, Tucson's, The Elmdale and Bass
Line
Station that have more detailed schedules.
It's also a good idea to call a venue to confirm that regular listings still apply
as they sometimes just quietly go away.
