Besides those specifically listed here or on the calendar, there is info on
other venues' plans like Rainbow Bistro, Tucson's, Elmdale Tavern and Bass Line
Station etc. It can be found by clicking on venue links in the calendar to
access their schedules.
a.. Sunday 29 August
- There's a Sunday Open Blues Jam with River City Junction at Rainbow Bistro,
Ottawa's longest running blues jam. (Entry is free for jammers, $3 for those coming
to seek some of the best blues entertainment in Ottawa) 4 to 7 pm.
- Ska Monthly presents - Roots System (Australia) 9:45 pm to 1:30 am at Rainbow Bistro

- Freddy Carriere & the Affordables are at Atomic Rooster - 6 to 9 pm
- There's an Open Blues/Rock jam at Le Petit Chicago in Hull
Centre-Town 9:30 pm to 12:30 am.
- Sandy Faux - Vocals & Craig Kennedy - Pianist are at Vineyards -
7 to 10 pm.
b.. Tuesday 31 August
- there's an Electric Open Jam featuring Blues, R & B & Rock at
Bass Line Station followed by an acoustic jam on Wednesday 1 September
c.. Thursday 2 September
- Molto restaurant continues to pair its wonderful food and quaint atmosphere
with some of the regions finest ladies of jazz both today and Saturday.
Performance Schedule 6:30 pm Thursday and 7 pm Saturday.
- Candle Light Acoustic Music with Al Tambay & Friends is at Tucson's. Every
Thursday evening Al Tambay & Friends perform Acoustic music for your listening
pleasure. Al's unigue sense of humor combined with Tucson's excellent full menu
and atmosphere make for a relaxing enjoyable evening. No Cover!
d.. Friday 3 September
- Rocket Rached & The Fat City 8 are at Tucson's,a full out Swingin' Night
of Jump
and Blues performed by Ottawa's hippest horns and smoking rhythm section fronted
by Rocket Rached - 9:15 pm.
- The Gallop is at Rainbow Bistro - 9:30 pm
e.. Saturday 4 September
- Tucsons presents Sudden Thunder - 9:15 pm.
- There's a triple-bill of Rockabilly at Rainbow Bistro, featuring Buzz Campbell
and Hot Rod Lincoln. Buzz hails from California, and is Lee Rocker's guitarist. Buzz
and his band have toured throughout the US and Europe with Brian Setzer and
Stray Cats. Opening the show will be Ottawa's own, King Rattler followed by
Matchless from Montreal - 9:30 pm.
I only highlight a small number of events that are posted to the calendar.
Nowhere near everything is posted on the calendar as it's musician/venue
optional to post, and amend the listings as needed. However more info can be found
on the calendar including links to such venue web sites as Rainbow Bistro, Tucson's,
The Elmdale and Bass Line Station that usually have more detailed schedules.
It's also a good idea to call a venue to confirm that regular listings still apply
as they sometimes just quietly go away or may be cancelled due to weather disruptions.
