*Winter Semester Meeting Times*
With the next semester only a month away, we ask all members to send
in their preferences for Winter Semester Meeting Times. This is
your chance to ensure that debate meetings fit with your schedule.
While we will try our hardest to make sure meetings work for you,
please note that conflicts do occur and we cannot accommodate
everyone. Note that the Friday afternoon meeting time traditionally
does not change.
Please send in your top three preferences (day of week, and time
available) to Wayne Chu at *vpcom(a)carletondebate.org*
<mailto:vpcom@carletondebate.org>.
*Executive Position Open*
Josh Prowse, the current Secretary-Treasurer of CUDS, will be
leaving us next semester, so the position of Secretary-Treasurer
will be vacant come January. A by-election to fill his position
will take place early in the Winter semester.
If you would like to run, contact the Executive at
*exec(a)carletondebate.org* <mailto:exec@carletondebate.org> by
December 30, 2004.
The Secretary-Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the records
of the society, keeping track of membership fees, drafting and
implementing the Society budget, and managing our activities with
the bank. If you have any questions regarding this position, do not
hesitate to contact the Executive.
We would also like to thank Josh for his hard work over the past few
years.
*Good Luck With Exams!*
The last day of classes is December 6, so there will be no more
debate meetings after this for the Fall Semester. Meetings will
resume in January. Ad hoc meetings can be arranged between
interested parties - the best way to organize those is through our
*CUSIDnet* <http://www.cusid.ca/community/viewforum.php?f=29>
forum. See *http://www.carletondebate.org/cusidnet* for more
information on how to get access.
In the meantime, all of us at the Carleton University Debating
Society wish you the best of luck with your final exams in the
coming weeks and wish you all a happy holidays.
See you in January!
