1) For everyone going to Novice, please meet at 11am in Residence Commons.
We will be leaving for Trinity College from there. CUDS will be staying in
the Town Inn which is ten minutes from campus. Rounds are scheduled to
finish at 4pm and we will head home after that. Bring money for food as
dinner on Saturday or Sunday is not provided. It should be a great weekend
and we look forward to a great weekend. More information regarding the

2) Novice Representative elections will be held on Wednesday, September 27
th at the regular debate meeting. Any novice who intends to run for the
position should send an e-mail to exec(a)carletondebate.org before Wednesday
at 6pm. Any novice who cannot attend the meeting may send a proxy vote to
exec(a)carletondebate.org .
3) There have been two constitutional amendments proposed; One regarding
the policy regarding ties in votes for executive positions and the other
regarding proxy votes. These will be voted on at the debate meeting on
Wednesday, September 27th. All members with voting rights are eligible to
vote, please see the constitution section of
www.carletondebate.org for more
information regarding voting procedure.
4) Tournament sign up is done via CUSIDnet. To sign up, go to
www.cusid.ca/community, create an account, and send a PM to "Graham Pressey"
to get access to our forum.
5) CUDS is hosting a public debate featuring John Anderson, Senior
Researcher at the *National Council of Welfare*, a citizens' body which
advises the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development on matters of
concern to low-income Canadians. It will feature a debate between U of O and
Carleton debaters followed by a speech from John Anderson. It is on Tuesday,
September 26th at 6pm in SA 409. Come out and tell others who may be
interested.
