*Welcome New Executives*
On Wednesday, October 6th, elections were held for the vacant
positions of Vice President (Debate) and Novice Representative. We
are proud to announce that Jessica Scorpio will be your new VP
Debate, and Dan Meester will be the new Novice Representative.
As VP Debate, Jessica is in charge of the internal activities of the
society as well as planning our tournament excursions. She can be
reached at *vpdebate(a)carletondebate.org
<mailto:vpdebate@carletondebate.org>*.
As Novice Representative, Dan will have a say in who gets to go to
tournaments, as well as representing the concerns of new members to
the executive. He can be reached at *novice(a)carletondebate.org
<mailto:novice@carletondebate.org>*
Business Meetings are open to all members of the Society. They
occur on Wednesdays at 5:30pm in 520 Southam Hall.
*Chancellor's Cup*
October 29 - 31 will feature the Chancellor's Cup at Queen's
University in Kingston. This will most likely be the last
tournament we will be attending this Fall semester. The tournament
will be in Canadian Parliamentary style and also has a French
language division if you would like to debate in French.
To put your name in for this tournament, contact
*vpdebate(a)carletondebate.org* <mailto:vpdebate@carletondebate.org>
by Wednesday, October 13th.
*Xerxes Cup*
The Xerxes Cup, our annual high school tournament, will be taking
place November 19 - 20. To run this tournament, we need all the
help we can get. If you would like to volunteer to help out,
contact the Tournament Director, Greta Hall at
*xerxes(a)carletondebate.org <mailto:xerxes@carletondebate.org>*.
Please note that members who have been subsidized by the club to go
to tournaments are expected to help out.
