CONSTRUCTIVE POINTS
1. Nationals Results
2. Annual General Meeting Notice
1. Over the past weekend, over 11 debaters and judges headed to Queen's
University to take part in this year's Nationals. CUDS came out of the
tournament, with Adam Coombs and Mike Powell achieving 10th place, and
Andrew Lawrence and Garnett Genius placing 13th. Mike Powell was also came
17th in the speaking tabs, and Garnett Genuis came in 19th. CUDS would also
like to congratulate Blair Stein on coming 8th in public speaking. In
addition, the Carleton University Debate Society has won the bid to hold the
North American Debate Championships in 2008. Many volunteers worked very
hard on making the bid, and the effort that they put into making it shows
through with the success the bid had against McGill University, by winning
the vote by a 2 to 1 margin. We would like to congratulate all the
debaters, judges, and volunteers on having an amazingly successful time at
Nationals!
