CONSTRUCTIVE POINTS
1. Guelph Tournament
2. Panda Debate
3. Ottawa U. Debate-a-thon
1. Guelph Tournament
CUDS is now accepting applications to attend the Guelph Invitational
Debating Tournament (Guelph University, February 3-5). This tournament will
be conducted in British Parliamentary style, so it represents a great chance
for our members to get familiar with this different format. The deadline
for applications is January 30th - please post your interest on CUSIDnet or
notify the exec at exec(a)carletondebate.org.
2. Panda Debate
This year's illustrious Panda Debate - the (almost) annual showdown between
the Carleton and University of Ottawa Debate Societies - will be held from
February 10-11. The Friday evening rounds will be held at Ottawa U, and the
Saturday rounds will be at Carleton, with some kind of social event
happening on both nights. There is no cost for the tournament, though we
generally order food communally during the tournament. Final details are
still to come, but anyone who is interested should email the exec at
exec(a)carletondebate.org.
3. Ottawa U. Debate-a-thon
The University of Ottawa will be holding a repeat of last year's very
successful Debate-a-thon for charity. This year's event will be from
Monday, January 30th at 10am to the next day at 10am, and all proceeds will
be going to Nelson House, a women's shelter. If you are interested, you can
read the post on the forum

the University of Ottawa at w_mhs(a)yahoo.de.
