Hi everyone,
As we draw closer to Friday's AGM, CUSIDnet has become full of debates over
a number of topics that will be determining the future path of the club.
Currently, most of the posts are being made by a relatively small group of
debaters, and we would definitely appreciate the input of the wider
membership. Please take the time to check out and comment on these topics,
which include:
1. Should CUDS put more funding into ensuring that our top debaters get more
experience, or should we focus CUDS funding on sending more novices to
tournaments?
2. Should CUDS start a Tournament Selection Committee (TSE), which would be
in charge of choosing who gets to go to all tournaments?
3. Should we send debating teams to Oxbridge, the two top British debating
tournaments at Oxford and Cambridge?
4. Should we send debating teams to Yale?
5. Should CUDS run Xerxes in Canadian Parliamentary or British Parliamentary
style?
6. What should CUDS' World's selection policy be?
The exec would definitely appreciate your views on these topics and others,
and the AGM would run more smoothly if everyone has had a chance to hash out
their opinions on CUSIDnet beforehand.
Cheers,
