1. Novice Rep Election Results
Congratulations to Andrew Lawrence, our new Novice Representative! Andrew
made quite the case at the election meeting and managed to sway all and
sundry as to his amazing executive skills.
2. Success at UBC
Our collective hat is off to Padraic Ryan and Garnett Genuis, who finished
fourth overall at the National BP Championships at UBC. Perhaps a sign of
things to come at World's!
3. Leger Applications
If you are interested in representing CUDS at the Leger Cup (CUSID Central
Canadian Championships) at Western University, send an email to
exec(a)carletondebate.org or post a message on CUSIDnet. The tournament will
be taking place from November 18-20, with our application deadline firmly
set for 12:00 noon, October 28th.
4. Call for Xerxes Volunteers
Our annual Xerxes high school debating tournament is only three and a halfr
weeks away (November 11-13), and we are looking for any and all volunteers
to help us run the tournament. Our tournament directors, Jessica Scorpio and
Jordan Charbonneau, are looking for people to help out specifically in the
areas of judging and food. Bearing in mind the hard work that is going into
organizing this tournament and making it successful, this is the perfect
chance for all our members to show their support for the club by coming out
and helping out.
