Call for Volunteers to Staff CUSA Clubs and Societies Days Table
January 20 and 22 are CUSA Clubs and Societies days. Each day, CUDS will have a table in
either the Baker or Loeb Lounge to promote the club and answer questions about what we do
and how people can get involved. If you can volunteer to staff the table on either day,
sign up on the appropriate thread on the CUDS message board. If you do not have access to
the CUDS forum, email the Vice President for Communications with your CUSIDnet alias.
Additionally, if you haven't been much involved in CUDS this past year, stop by our
table to chat about what the club is doing and what we can offer to you.
Wednesday Case-building Session Returns
Back due to overwhelming popular demand: CUDS President Mike Powell will hang out in the
Mike's Place grad bar between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm every Wednesday to help you create
cases. Take advantage of this informal case-building session to get suggestions on how to
strengthen your cases or just to chat with a really cool guy.
Executive Business Meeting Day and Time
The CUDS executive will meet for a weekly business meeting every Thursday at 6:30pm.
These meetings are open to everyone. The location will be posted early next week on the
CUDS web site's events page.
CUDS Meeting Days, Times and Location
This winter, CUDS will meet every week in 304 Dunton Tower:
a.. 5:30pm Wednesday
b.. 2:30pm Friday
You don't have to come out to both meetings; we hope that one of the dates and times
will work with your schedule. Everyone is welcome to come out; no experience is required.
Feel free to come late or leave early if necessary.
Due to a scheduling conflict, we may have to switch rooms from 304DT. Any changes will be
announced next week. The location of the new room would be posted on the 304DT door.
Winter Carnival Teams Selected
The CUDS executive has selected the members we are sending to McGill's Winter
Carnival. Daniel Moak will attend as the judge representing CUDS. Bart Paudyn and Damien
Cote compose CUDS' first team. Joshua Prowse and Padraic Ryan compose CUDS' second
team. If you have any questions or problems with these selections, let the CUDS executive
know ASAP.
Winter Carnival 2004 will take place January 23-25. It will consist of six rounds of
Canadian parliamentary debate, breaking to quarters, and three public speaking rounds,
breaking to finals.
Last call for those interested in Attending Norams
CUDS is accepting applications from those interested in attending the Queen's
University-hosted North American Championships (January 30-February 1). View the CUDS
events calendar to see how this tournament fits into our plan for the remainder of the
year (the plan is subject to change should finances prove a constraint). As with all
other tournaments this year, CUDS members who attend are expected to pay $20 towards
CUDS' costs. To express interest in attending this tournament, post to the relevant
thread on the CUDS forum. The executive will determine who is going within the next few
days.
If you do not have access to the CUDS forum, email the Vice President for Communications
with your CUSIDnet alias and you will be granted access.
