*Novice Training Seminar*
We will be holding our annual *Novice Training Seminar* on Saturday,
September 25, 2004. The seminar will run from 10am to about 3pm at
Carleton University (rooms TBA). There is no cost involved and we
will be providing lunch. *Please RSVP* to vpcom(a)carletondebate.org
<mailto:vpcom@carletondebate.org> if you will be attending. *If you
are not a novice*, contact us as well since we will need your help.
The day will feature an in-depth seminar with Carleton University
alumni *Allen Middlebro'*, a former National Champion and World
Champion Octo-Finalist. We guarantee he will make you a better
debater! Afterwards, we will run practice rounds and give feedback
on your performance. Those planning on attending the Novice
Championships are highly urged to attend.

*CUSID Central Novice Championships*
For those who have not debated at a university level tournament
before, this is the tournament for you! For $20, you will have the
opportunity to travel to the Université de Sherbrooke to debate
against novice debaters from across Ontario and Quebec. This is the
tournament you should go to if you want to find out if you like
debating or not. Some of Canada's best debaters will be there to
give you feedback on your skills. In addition, there will also be a
French-language division available for those wishing to debate in
French.
If you have already signed up, you will be receiving an e-mail
shortly to confirm your attendance. If you would like to go but
haven't signed up, make sure to *put your name on the sign-up sheet
available at every meeting*, or post your name at
http://www.cusid.ca/community/viewtopic.php?t=5048.
*_The deadline to sign up is September 20 at 5:30pm._*
(See
http://www.carletondebate.org/contact to find out how to
