This is a busy week for the Debating Society. The deluge of emails will abate as we
approach the exam period.
Show Debate with Maureen McTeer at UofO Campus
The University of Ottawa's English Debating Society is hosting a show debate with
lawyer, activist, politician, former EDS president and wife of Joe Clark, Maureen McTeer.
The resolution is "This House Would Ban All Cloning". After the debate, Maureen
McTeer will give a short speech; she is very knowledgeable about reproductive technology
such as cloning. It is Wednesday March 3 at 5:30 in Simard 129 on the UofO campus. This is
the same room where the final round of the Panda Debate was held. Discuss this on the CUDS
forum. If you do not have access to the forum, email CUDS Vice President Josh Prowse.
Find out about events like this one first by keeping an eye on the forum!
Ashbury College Wants Judges
Ashbury College, a private Ottawa secondary school, will be hosting the provincial
debating championships April 3. They are in dire need of judges. If you would like to
volunteer to judge at the event, network with the other CUDS members who are going via the
forum.
Confirmation of Applicants to Attend Nationals
The 2004 Canadian National Debating Championships occur March 19-21 at McGill University
in Montréal. View the CUDS schedule to see how this tournament fits into our year. CUDS

expected to pay $20 towards CUDS' costs. If you want to go, but your name is not on
this list, express interest by posting to the relevant thread on the CUDS forum. The CUDS
